Design of the Vine storage Smart shelving
Starting with the question
shelving is needed to support bottles, however does it have to be predictable and how can we make it visually intriguing and expressive?
Result
design an undulating field that is expressive, surprising and a design statement, yet practical and serves the purpose.
Technical manageability and cost control :
Use computation driven manufacturing to achieve precision of manufacturing for low cost. Use substructure that will support bottle holders, and CNC precis holes for insertion of the supports.
use glue for hold and pre thread pipes for removable bottle support.

There will be approx.. 2000+ bottles in storage in the shelfing.
How do you find the one that you want?
Technological task to find inexpensive solution that is robust, easy to upkeep and elegant.
If there is a representation of full database of bottles and positions finding a bottle is just cross-referencing desired bottle with information on location. Bringing cross-referencing data capabilities is not the problem for any smart mobile device. Allowing smart device to influence physical space by communicating location of desired bottle solves the problem. By designing an App that assists in bottle location by lighting bottle support pipes around desired bottle – solves the problem.
Bonus consequences : programmable discrete screen that can, illuminate, express greeting, dance with music, enhance the moods.
